As Athen B Gallery approaches their Two Year Anniversary, the gallery is proud to announce a group exhibition that just open this past Saturday, June 10th at 7pm in Downtown Oakland.

Group Exhibition – “Spectators” @ Athen B. Gallery

Athen B. Gallery is proud to announce, “Spectators”, a group exhibition featuring the new works of Caleb Hahne, Michael Reeder, and Molly Bounds. The opening reception is Saturday, February 11th at 7pm in Downtown Oakland. Each artist’s narrative is unique and individual but a common theme is expressed – the elements that define human nature. The idea of one being a Spectator is translated in the paintings by encompassed identity, perspective and experiences that are all key factors in how we define ourselves as people.

The exhibition will take place at Athen B. Gallery located at 1525 Webster St in Downtown Oakland. We are also conveniently located right off both 12 St and 19th St Bart Stations. Group Exhibition – “Reset” @ Athen B. Gallery

Athen B. Gallery is pleased to present “Reset”, a group exhibition coming to Oakland January 14th featuring the works of twelve local, national and international artists. Some of the artists in the exhibition, like Augustine Kofie, Dave Kinsey and Duncan Jago, are considered to be veterans in the urban contemporary movement.

They will be hanging alongside emerging artists like Aubrey Learner, Christie Yuri Noh and Pakayla Rae. By hand selecting a diverse array of techniques, styles, and aesthetics, we have aimed to make this our most surreal exhibition to date. We’re excited to have Smithe, Pakayla Rae, Kelly Ording, Duncan Jago, Dave Kinsey, Curiot and Augustine Kofie joining us for the first time. We couldn’t be happier to welcome back Nicolas Romero, Martina Merlini, Jean Nagai and Aubrey Learner back for another exhibition at Athen B. Gallery in Downtown Oakland.

Be sure to check out the show on Saturday, January 14th at 7pm for the opening reception of “Reset”. Skinner – “A Series of Unfortunate Events” @ Athen B Gallery

Athen B Gallery is pleased to announce they have a really great solo exhibition by Skinner opened up this past weekend on Saturday December 10th called “A Series of Unfortunate Events”.

The gallery will also be doing a artist talk on Tuesday, December 13th at 7:30 where the artist will break down the paintings, character development and story board for the animated film he made for a band called “High on Fire”. On Saturday, December 17th Skinner will be hosting his first Skinterview where he will be interviewing special guest (other local creatives) in only a way Skinner could.

Basically nothing is for sale and this is more of a unique exhibition where visitors will be able to jump in Skinner’s mind and see a process not usually seen. Peep some studio and installation images and a write up from the artists himself after the jump.

Athen B. Gallery is proud to announce the highly anticipated, “Casual Decline”, a solo exhibition by Oakland based artist Cannon Dill. This is, by far, Cannon’s most mature, symbolic and well composed body of work so far yet it is all based around the ideas of uncertainty, expectation and carelessness.
