Casey NB, also known as Borrowed Lines is a Sydney, Australia based fine artist who created incredible Simpson’s based embroidery. Taking inspiration from scenes both new and old, the textiles are perfectly rendered and make any Simpson’s fan nostalgic.
Lala Abaddon seeks to examine the dual nature of binary relationships with parallels that give shape to their physical existence. In her woven work she integrates many components in her process, capturing her unique images multiple times through a repetitive sequence of traditional analog photographic methods, then arranging the large format prints into precise and deliberate pairings.
On October 30th, the San Francisco based punk rock quilter Ben Venom will unveil a new series of work in his debut exhibition “Don’t Tread on Me” in Japan at hpgrp GALLERY TOKYO. His new body of work features hand-crafted quilts from his signature rock t-shirts, as well as new pieces using recycled fabrics.
JT Merry is a mulidisciplinary artist who has worked for many years with Bjork, creating the costumes for her stage performances and music. As part of his new series of embroidery works, Merry decided to take the vision of athletic wear in a new direction by sewing floral patterns to their logos.
“My practice centres around ideas of beauty and ugliness and the conventions which determine our definition of each. I am interested in how we see things and how we interpret what we see: does my particular way of representing bodies, using fabrics, stitching and embroidery, affect how the content of the work is seen? NeSpoon is a Warsaw, Poland based artist who creates ornate lace patterns as her unique brand of street art that transcends a number of textile field and is installed in public spaces. NeSpoon transforms and beautifies remote and forgotten surfaces to create a what she refers to as “public jewelry.”
Textile artist Ana Teresa Barbozaby creates unbelievable embroidery art which comes out at the viewer bringing the two-dimensional art-form into a 3D sculpture.
Faig Ahmed graduated from the Sculpture faculty at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Art in Baku in 2004. Since 2003, he has been working with various media, including painting, video and installation. Currently, he is study¬ing the artistic qualities of Azerbaijani traditional rugs – he disassembles their conventional structure and randomly rearranges the resulting components of the traditional composition then combines these fragments with contemporary sculptural forms.
