Alex Achaval is currently living and working in Seattle and has just opened a own small gallery/studio in Pike place market called Artificial Gallery. Her work can be described in many different categories but Achaval hereself would simply define it as “Contemporary Portraiture.”

Jonathon Viner – “Strange Math” @ Roq La Rue Gallery
Fine artist Jonathan Viner just unveiled his new exhibition entitled “Strange Math” at Roq La Rue Gallery. The Brooklyn based artist created a number of new surreal figure based paintings using oil on canvas for the Seattle gallery. Take a look at a number of beautiful images after the jump!
Syd Bee – Various Paintings
Syd Bee’s interest in folklore, femininity, and the bizarre fuel her works which capture figures in a dreamy moment. She uses softness in application and color to suggest sweetness in spite of a creeping despondence. Bee’s figures appear melancholy and at odds with unseen forces. Through her explorations, perhaps one day these characters may overcome their circumstances.
Nosego – Seattle Mural Festival
Street artist Yis Goodwin, better known by his nome de plume “Nosego” was recently in Washington for the Seattle Mural Festival. Nosego busted out a colourful and surreal mural as he usually does so well.
Sandra Cinto – Massive Silver Pen Mural
Brazilian aritst, Sandra Cinto, got a chance to do a mural at the Seattle Art Museum‘s Olympic Sculpture Park Pavilion. This mural was entirely painted using blue paint and a silver Pilot pen. Absolutely breath-taking and we’re sure, time consuming.
