Aryz x SAN – New Mural in Zaragoza, Spain

Graffiti artist Aryz and San recently made it out to the city of Zaragoza where they painted an insane new mural on a chapel of an old psychiatric hospital for the Festival Asalto. The duo collaborated seamlessly and brilliant intertwined the old architecture elements with their new layers paint.

Lucy Williams – Architecture Landscape Collages

British artist Lucy Williams creates incredible collage work of 20th century architecture. The architectural landscapes are realized after hours of meticulously cutting and assembling various materials such as paper and cardboard, which makes the work appear photorealistic.

Boa Mistura – Anamorphic Typography Installation

Artist Boa Mistura recently created an incredible anamorphic typographic installation that spelled out a line from an Enrique Cabezón poem. The phrase “mírate a través de este poema de agua” was on display this past march as part of the ‘Concéntrico’ Architecture and Design Festival of Logroño, Spain. In order to read the entire phrase visitors had to walk around a group of white painted pillars and only in a certain portion of four different spots the colorful words became legible.

Matt Simmonds – Marble Carvings

Matthew Simmonds graduated from university with a degree in history of art in 1984, specialising in the art and architecture of the medieval period. In 1991 he trained as an architectural stone carver, and in this capacity he participated in the restoration of several important historic monuments in England, most particularly Westminster Abbey and Ely Cathedral. In 1996 he transferred to Italy, where he specialised in the carving of fine classical sculpture in marble.

Michael Wolf – Architecture of Density

Michael Wolf was born in Germany and was raised in the United States, Europe, and Canada. In 1976 he obtained a degree in visual communication at the University of Essen, Germany, where he studied with Otto Steinert. In his Architecture of Density series, Wolf takes a look at how the urban landscape is itself powerful imagery.
